SIM cards and internet in Georgia
The three mobile operators, what a month of data costs, eSIMs, home fibre and how fast the internet really is.
Updated 25.10.2026
Mobile data in Georgia is fast and cheap: the median mobile download speed is about 147 Mbps, among the fastest in the world, and a month of unlimited data costs ₾26–₾35. Home fibre is slower but steady. Here's what to buy, where, and what it costs, as of October 2026.
The three operators
- Magti: the largest, with the best coverage outside the cities, mountains included, and 5G since 2024.
- Silknet: once Geocell, with 5G mostly in central Tbilisi.
- Cellfie: once Beeline, the cheapest, weaker outside the cities.
Buying a SIM
Magti and Silknet have desks at Tbilisi airport after passport control, open around the clock, and Magti gives a free SIM with its welcome package. In town, every operator has shops. Bring your passport.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Magti Welcome | ₾15 | 5 GB for 15 days |
| Magti unlimited | ₾35 | a month (₾10 a week, ₾2 a day) |
| Cellfie Tourist | ₾19 | 5 GB and 50 international minutes for 14 days |
| Cellfie unlimited | ₾26 | 30 days (₾8 a week, ₾2 a day) |
| Silknet tourist unlimited | ₾30 | 30 days (₾10 for 7 days) |
eSIMs
Cellfie sells its own eSIM online for ₾1 and Magti for ₾10 in its app or shops. To be online the moment you land, a travel eSIM bought before you leave works too: Airalo runs on Cellfie's network, and Saily and Holafly cover Georgia.
Home internet
Fibre costs ₾35–₾100 a month: Magti sells 70 Mbps for ₾40 and 100 Mbps for ₾80, Silknet 45 Mbps for ₾35 up to 150 Mbps for ₾100. Installation is usually free and takes a day or a few, router included; the contract is in your name, so bring your passport. The median home connection is about 51 Mbps both ways, enough for video calls; before you rent, ask which providers reach the building: renting an apartment in Tbilisi.
Working on the go
Coworking spaces are the safe bet for a day of calls; some list their measured speeds on our pages. Café Wi-Fi varies, and a phone hotspot on a local SIM is often faster. Where to go: the best coworking spaces in Tbilisi and the best cafés to work from.
