Meeting people in Tbilisi

Where remote workers and expats meet in Tbilisi: online groups, weekly meetups, tech events, coworking communities, culture and volunteering.

Updated 25.10.2026

Tbilisi has a big, friendly community of people from elsewhere, and meeting them is easy once you know where they gather: a few online groups, weekly meetups, tech events and, simplest of all, the coworking spaces.

Online groups

The Facebook groups Expats in Tbilisi, Foreigners in Georgia and Living in Georgia each have thousands of members, and they're where people ask questions, find flats and post events. Russian speakers have their own Telegram chats.

Weekly meetups

The Meetup group Foreigners and Friends in Tbilisi runs events every week, from after-work drinks to brunch, and Couchsurfing hangouts bring locals and visitors together most weekends. Venues change, so check the group before you go.

Tech and startups

Startup Grind Tbilisi holds regular talks, and Global Tech Weekend fills a June weekend with dozens of events. Grants, accelerators and the rest of the scene: Tbilisi's startup scene.

Through work

The quickest way to meet people is to stop working from home. Many coworking spaces run member events, and the regulars at a smaller space soon know each other: the best coworking spaces in Tbilisi. Fabrika's courtyard, with its cafés and a coworking space, fills with remote workers every afternoon: working at Fabrika.

Culture and language

The Alliance Française, the Goethe-Institut and the American Corner hold talks, film nights and classes open to all. Learning a few words of Georgian goes a long way, and Georgians are quick to invite someone who tries.

Volunteering

Mayhew Georgia works with the city's street dogs, and the Georgian Red Cross takes volunteers too.
